Cambridge IGCSE

Programme Overview

Build a strong academic foundation and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for further study. The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme at Tembusu Institute offers a balanced and internationally recognised secondary education pathway for students preparing to progress to Cambridge International AS & A Level or other suitable post-secondary programmes.

Full-time (in-class study)

Subject Options

Students normally study six to seven subjects. A balanced programme will include core learning in English and Mathematics, together with elective subjects selected according to the student's academic readiness, interests and intended progression. Tembusu Institute offers a range of subject options, as follows:

Admission Requirements

Minimum age

At least 14 years old

Academic Entry Requirements

Successfully completed Secondary 2, Year 8 or an equivalent lower secondary qualification

English Language Entry Requirements


  • Passed English at Secondary 2, Year 8 or equivalent; or 
  • IELTS Academic score 4.0; or 
  • TOEFL iBT 3.0; or 
  • Pass Tembusu Institute’s English Placement Test, benchmarked at approximately CEFR A2

Full tuition fee: SGD $22,345 per year

Scholarship Opportunities 

Tembusu Institute may offer scholarships or fee support to selected students who demonstrate strong academic potential, talent, leadership qualities or the ability to contribute positively to the Institute community.

Scholarship availability, eligibility criteria and the level of support offered may vary. Awards are subject to an application and assessment process. Interested students and parents may contact the Admissions Team for further information. 

Documents Required for Course Applications

All applicants should submit the following documents:

  • Copy of your NRIC or birth certificate (for local applicants), passport biodata page (for international applicant)
  • Recent passport-sized colour photograph.
  • Academic certificates, examination results and latest school report or academic transcripts.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency, where applicable. Applicants may be required to take Tembusu Institute’s English placement test.

Important: Documents issued in languages other than English must be accompanied by official English translations. Original documents may be requested for verification, and additional supporting documents may be requested during the assessment of your application.
