Cambridge International AS & A Level

Programme Overview

The Cambridge International A Level programme is an internationally recognised advanced pre-university qualification that prepares students for undergraduate study and future professional development.

The programme develops in-depth subject knowledge, independent learning, critical thinking, research capability, and analytical skills. The qualification is recognised by universities globally and equips students with strong academic and intellectual foundations across multiple disciplines. Students may complete Cambridge International AS Level as a standalone qualification or continue to Cambridge International A Level, subject to the selected subject pathway.

Full-time (in-class study) for AS and A Level 

Subject Options

Most university degree programmes have specific A-Level subject requirements. Students typically take three to four subjects, and universities generally base offers on results in three subjects. Tembusu Institute offers a range of subject options to support students’ interests and intended university pathways, as follows:

Admission Requirements

Minimum age

  • 16 years old for AS-Level
  • 17 years old for A-Level

Academic Entry Requirements

  • At least a pass (Grade C6) at GCE O-Level in any 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics; or 
  • At least a pass at Cambridge IGCSE, Grade 10, or equivalent international secondary school qualification with passes in at least 3 relevant subjects 

English Language Entry Requirements


  • At least Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level English; or 
  • IELTS Academic score 5.5; or 
  • TOEFL Score of 46; or 
  • Pass Tembusu Institute’s English Test

Full tuition fee: SGD $24,525 per year

Scholarship Opportunities 

Tembusu Institute may offer scholarships or fee support to selected students who demonstrate strong academic potential, talent, leadership qualities or the ability to contribute positively to the Institute community.

Scholarship availability, eligibility criteria and the level of support offered may vary. Awards are subject to an application and assessment process. Interested students and parents may contact the Admissions Team for further information. 

Documents Required for Course Applications

All applicants should submit the following documents:

  • Copy of your NRIC or birth certificate (for local applicants), passport biodata page (for international applicant)
  • Recent passport-sized colour photograph.
  • Academic certificates, examination results and latest school report or academic transcripts.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency, where applicable. Applicants may be required to take Tembusu Institute’s English placement test.

Important: Documents issued in languages other than English must be accompanied by official English translations. Original documents may be requested for verification, and additional supporting documents may be requested during the assessment of your application.
