Programme Overview

This curriculum immerses students in fashion communication, focusing on both digital and traditional marketing strategies. It develops skills in crafting compelling narratives and visual communication across platforms.The programme emphasises hands-on experience, allowing students to refine storytelling, brand development, and promotional techniques through real-world projects, preparing them for impactful careers. This programme will be conducted by Tembusu Institute and awarded by Kingston University.

Ethical practices and sustainability are key, equipping students to promote fashion responsibly and contribute to the industry's shift towards sustainability.

Tembusu Institute offers extensive facilities, including sewing classrooms, industrial machines, and software like Adobe Creative Cloud and CLO3D.

History of Fashion Media

Year 2

Fashion Promotion and Communications 2

  • Analyse brand identity, positioning, communication strategies, and global consumer behaviour
  • Develop creative promotional concepts supported by insights and ethicality
  • Understand various marketing channels, and apply content creation for brand building

Professional Practice

Fashion Direction

Critical Issues in Fashion: Research and Practice

Year 3

Fashion Promotion Campaign (Capstone Project)

  • Develop multi-channel campaigns with strategic thinking, consumer engagement, and storytelling.
  • Apply research and design thinking throughout the creative process and document outcomes.
  • Present work effectively and communicate with stakeholders.

Professional Showcase

(30 credits)

  • Define and position yourself within a professional context, formulating a career-focused personal promotion strategy.

Fashion Realisation

(30 credits)

  • Translate creative concepts into professional outputs using advanced digital and physical production methods.

  • Critically evaluate and document practical and creative decisions.

Dissertation

(30 credits)

  • Initiate and manage a written project, applying critical analysis to contemporary or historical fashion debates.

Admission Requirements

Academic Entry Requirements (Direct entry to Year 2)

  • Successful completion of the Advanced Diploma in Fashion Technology at Tembusu Institute. Evidence of this qualification will be provided either through official certification or by data shared directly between Tembusu Institute and Kingston University.

English Language Entry Requirements

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual element scoring below 5.5.
  • Kingston University accepts a variety of recognised English language proficiency tests. For the most up-to-date list of accepted tests, please visit www.kingston.ac.uk/english.
  • Applicants who have completed the Advanced Diploma in Fashion Technology at Tembusu Institute and entered that qualification with an IELTS score of 5.5 overall (with no element less than 5.0) will not be required to provide further IELTS evidence of 6.0 with no element below 5.5
