Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) teaches students how to understand and shape fashion through both creative design and practical industry skills. The curriculum combines core design theory and introductory units with major fashion-design courses, complementary studies (such as specialisations or electives), and “impact lab” or studio-style units, totaling 288 credit points. Throughout the course, students work on real-world briefs individually and in teams, using professional-standard facilities, and learn both traditional fashion practices (garment construction, pattern making, and textiles) and modern concerns like sustainability, ethics, digital design technologies, and global fashion contexts. There are opportunities for electives, overseas exchange, and internships, enabling graduates to build a strong portfolio and prepare for careers as fashion designers, merchandisers, stylists, or even entrepreneurs.
